hypnotic and experimental beats and soundscapes
"hypnotic" available on all major streaming platforms
"hypnotic" offers an experimental sound with unfamiliar and polyrhythmic beats, effects, overlays, ruptures, with pristine and jazzy harmonies on top, undermining listening expectations.
in moog's semi-modular analog synthesizers "dfam" (drummer from another mother) and "subharmonicon" (for polyrhythms), markus found the perfect creative tools in order to take aromat to a new sound dimension.
beauty is being added by lukas, a master of harmonies, mainly on the piano and fender rhodes. martín accounts for undisturbed and distorted lead & rhythm guitars and hence sonic edges.

being a transoceanic (swiss-argentine) project, the tracks were recorded individually and do indeed contain oscillator-generated instead of recorded or sampled drums & percussions only.
likewise, all noises were created with analog synths.
"hypnotic" (2023) was mixed at studio dobozi, mastered by dan suter at echochamber, and is available on all major streaming platforms.
the concept of aromat and the music production technologies allowed - and still do - for soundscapes that are not possible with a live band, meaning textures, instrumentation and last but not least temporal independence.
as the creative head of the band, lukas was the main source of new sounds, arrangements and eventually songs. his musical output was further arranged and developed by markus, responsible for bass and additional electronic sounds.

for "destiny" (2007), aromat teamed up with gabriela heer (vocals, lyrics) and - as a guest musician - francis petter, who played the flute, bass clarinet, and bansuri.
opening up its sonic spectrum, aromat participated at the m4music demotape clinics 2006 finals in the categories pop (song "checked another soul"), electronics (song "in the skies"), and urban (song "get on up").
the m4music cd compilation "the best Of demotape clinic 2006 features "checked another soul".
"destiny" is available for streaming.

"get going" (2004) was the third album as a duo, and the first one to be recorded with a daw, a digital audio workstation.
this allowed for a much more sophisticated access to compositions, arrangements as well as track layering and finetuning, resulting in a milestone for aromat's sound.
aromat participated at the m4music demotape clinic finals 2005 with the album title song.
"get going" was published on cd baby and is hence available for streaming (and physically).
"evolution" was recorded in 2003 using a small sequencer (which broke during the recording phase...) and a hard disk recorder. the album has not been released, however, a few tracks are available on youtube.
inspired by electronic grooves and nu jazz, "aromat" was set up in zürich (switzerland) in spring 2002. being jazz aficionados, their initial sound combined looped drum patterns, a vintage fretless bass and subtle ambient layers topped with jazzy, improvised tunes, preferably using fender rhodes.
"teleporter" was recorded in 2002 using a small sequencer (which worked fine at that time) and a hard disk recorder. the album has not been released, however, it was used as a soundtrack for an architecture dvd, and a few tracks are available on youtube.
